E3 Scholarship Fund provides Kolbe Youth™ Assessments to aid in educational planning, placement, and to help determine the individualized learning strengths of each student. This coordination of information is instrumental for students who are struggling to make progress in school. 

By becoming aware of their innate talents, students, parents, and educators will be able to figure out solutions that work for them in their day to day learning environment.

According to Kolbe wisdom, there are four basic instincts that we all revert to when problem-solving. These instincts are not acquired or learned. They are not based on emotions or how we feel. They were given to all of us at birth and are a part of who we are. You cannot change your instincts nor can you measure them. However, we can measure conation, which are the actions we take as a result of these instincts.

Each child is unique

The uniqueness of each child is not something to take for granted. By identifying the strengths of your child, we are able to identify the keys for success to help improve communication, problem-solving, and most importantly to reduce stress. Each child learns to do things in their own special way, helping them become more creative and better problem-solvers not just at school, but also at home and in life.

This is the first clue that instinctive bias is happening at school. Teachers and administrators desire to positively impact kids’ lives. Students deserve to have a teacher who sincerely believes they possess the ability to be successful. They deserve the chance to develop skills that allow them to be successful in whatever they choose to do after graduation. Research shows that 78% of students have difficulty adjusting to the typical classroom setting where 70%- 80% of teachers teach in a way that only 22% of children naturally learn.

I am firmly convinced that without understanding our instincts, we, and our children, will not find our natural stride to success without much pain and wasteful dead-ends. 

Without truly understanding our individual unique path of high performance, parents, teachers, and leaders will continue unwittingly to impose “their way” on those they aim to help and educate. Leaders in all sectors will continue to marginalize those who have different talents—different from the ones that work for us. 

We call this INSTINCTIVE BIAS: our way is the way. And this comes about because we have valued the role KNOWLEDGE and MOTIVATION play in high performance but have ignorantly devalued the role INSTINCT plays in the way we achieve.
