Call to Action This Week

While DOJ investigates Shawnee Mission School District, help E3 protect kids from sexual assault and harassment: make an appointment with DOJ right now.

The U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division will conduct private interviews this week at E3 Scholarship Fund, 7010 W. 83rd Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66204 for a civil investigation of Shawnee Mission School District’s handling of sexual assault and harassment reports. E3 will make a difference for kids who face sexual assault and harassment at school – helping with transparency, documentation and policy enforcement.

If your child has been sexually assaulted or harassed in the school district, share your child’s testimony with the Department of Justice. Contact us at (913) 292-9997 or email charles@e3sf.org to make a private appointment for the following times:

Tuesday, October 23: 6 p.m.-9 p.m.
Wednesday, October 24: 12 p.m.-9 p.m.
Thursday, October 25: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

At issue is whether the school district has been violating Title IX, or even its own guidelines when addressing sexual assault and sexual harassment. Title IX prohibits sexual assault and harassment at federally funded schools. Shawnee Mission School District’s guidelines can be found on their website.

When schools minimize sexual assault and sexual harassment reports, they foster criminal behaviors. They victimize victims. And, they prevent children from getting an education. Our kids deserve so much better!
